God always provides!

1 Kings 17:2-6
Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah: “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.” So he did what the LORD had told him. He went to the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan, and stayed there. The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he drank from the brook.

Praise our God for He is “Jehovah-Jireh”, the God who provides. Elijah has just announced to King Ahab that a severe drought will happen throughout the land and it will not rain save at Elijah’s command. Elijah, per the Lord’s direction, is supposed to go hide in a ravine. Get this; ravens are going to bring him food. This isn’t exactly normal raven behavior and it reveals God’s authority over all of creation. This is not to say that we should all move to ravines and wait for ravens to bring us food. This is another example to help our unbelief about who God is. God will provide!

Who sent Jesus?

John 6:29
Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

The question is, “Who sent Jesus Christ?” For believers, it’s not really a question…because we know God the Father sent Him. However for some, it is a question. Some say Jesus is a prophet, some say He was merely a teacher. The issue on the table is His claim to deity; the claim He made to be God. Being a Christian means you believe that claim, and also believe He took the fullness of God’s wrath on the cross in our place. Among all the things you could “do for God”, one thing matters most. Believe in Jesus Christ - who is, who was, and who is to come, the Almighty. (Revelation 1:8)

Do your giving in secret.

I found this using 'Words of Jesus Daily' for Android phones!

"Giving to the Needy":

1 'Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
2 'Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.
3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,
4 so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Matthew 6 : 1-4 - ESV)

Saviour teach me day by day.

I found this using 'Prayers & Blessings Daily' for Android phones!

"A Prayer - Saviour Teach me Day by Day":

Savior, teach me, day by day, Love's sweet lesson to obey; Sweeter lesson cannot be, Loving Him who first loved me. With a child's glad heart of love, At Thy bidding may I move, Prompt to serve and follow Thee, Loving Him who first loved me. Teach me thus Thy steps to trace, Strong to follow in Thy grace, Learning how to love from Thee, Loving Him who first loved me. Love in loving finds employ, In obedience all her joy; Ever new that joy will be, Loving Him who first loved me. Amen.

Every kitchen utensil is useful

2 Timothy 2:20-21
In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. 21 Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work.

God wants to “show you off” for His glory. Remember, God wants to share with everyone, the entire universe, the “incomparable riches of His grace” (Ephesians 2:7). He does this by presenting us as examples, and we are obedient to him by offering our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God. (Romans 12:1) God has chosen the lives of all believers to show His glory in the ages to come alongside Christ. What an honor! What a privilege! May our cry be that of Isaiah, “Here I am Lord, send me”! (Isaiah 6:8)

God with you in bed.

Psalm 63:4-8
I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of fo
ods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you. On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.

Who do you go to bed with? The last thing you do before sleeping is very important. It determines whether you'll have a dream or a nightmare. The last person you should say goodnight to is your Saviour not your husband or wife. As you lay down start singing a song or hymn to the Lord. - within you not out loud (beware of especially people with frogs in their throat!) However your day has been joy will fill your heart. As you praise God, count your blessings naming them one by one and see what God has done.

Lord God, I pray that you would make our hearts “fully satisfied” with you! In these verses David is recognizing that God is present and working in his life, and we see a response of praise. Allow your heart to be awestruck and lifted up by the presence of our great and loving Father in your life. Delight in the Lord, for He is worthy of your praise. Today, remember how the Lord has been there for you, and know that He promises to always be there for you. Amen! We praise you Lord!

Be a complimenter, not a complainer.

Psalm 66:8-9
Praise our God, all peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.

When things go well in your life, who do you thank? Do you remember to say "thank you Jesus for without You this'll not be possible "? Acknowledge God in all your ways and He'll direct your ways. The more your praises go up, the more His blessings come down. Spend more time appreciating the good things in your life and you'll stop depreciating! Give it a try, spend a week or even a day not complaining and simply be grateful for the good things even if it's just still being alive on a terrible day!
How many times has God kept you safe? How many times has He directed your steps and taken you down paths that had sure footing and great purpose for Him? Praise God that He works in our lives. God preserves our lives and keeps us from slipping (vs. 9-NIV). It is true that we face trials, are tempted, and are asked to persevere and depend on God in and through those times. Remember though that we do not see or know all that God does, and the substance of our lives shares more purpose than to just get from one obstacle to another. Believe that He is working in your life – because He is.

Who is in you?

1 John 4:3-4
but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

There are many anti-christ Christians going to church today because they refuse to acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Son of God and part of the Trinity. Christ means the anointed one and his anointing, so if we profess to be Christian and lack the anointing that breaks yoke, what does that make us? Before settling down in a church, check their doctrine to see if they believe in Jesus Christ, the Lord and our Saviour. Do they believe in the Holy Ghost Pentecostal power in displaying signs and wonders using the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit? Beware if churches where prayer is nit offered in Jesus' name.

The other spirit working in our world is the spirit of the antichrist. This spirit does not acknowledge Jesus, and is not from God. The Holy Spirit (vs. 4 - “the one who is in you”) is greater than the spirit of the antichrist. To echo yesterday’s verse, you are equipped and prepared to deal with this adversary of God. Stand firm with the armor of God intact (Ephesians 6). You are not defenseless, you are sealed by our mighty God: ever our strong tower and refuge. Be strong and courageous. (Joshua 1:9)

Who do you submit to?

James 4:7
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Who do you submit to in your life? Many people though proud, force themselves to submit to their boss at work because of the paycheck you are expecting at the end of each month, some submit to their lecturers because he has the power to fail you, some submit to the law of their country for fear of fine or imprisonment and others to their husbands because he rules over them. All this is good but not the best. When we submit to people and laws in the absence of submitting FIRST to God will end up in failure. That's why people still lose their jobs, fail their exams, get jailed innocently or divorce. Submit to your Maker first and then He will give you power to dominate your life and resist the schemes of the devil.

Part of resisting the devil is submitting to God. I’ve heard it said that if you are not walking “toward God” you are walking away from Him. God’s position does not move, and He has been clear about where He stands. If you believe in Christ you will be saved and in right relationship with Him. Our enemy however is shifty and cunning, and is always trying to confuse the direction you are walking in. Satan's goal is to exploit anything that can turn you away from God. Has evil worked its way into your life masquerading as something good? Resist evil, and cling to Christ alone.

Praying with a target

Ephesians 6:18
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

As we read in yesterday’s verse, the gospel of peace readies you for spiritual warfare. With your mind centered on the gospel that saved you, pray in the Spirit. In a way, you wield the Word of God through prayer, because our prayers have the power to impact this world and how it functions. God is sovereign, and our prayers funnel through that sovereignty. He is the God who desires to be known more and more by us. Why else would He go to such lengths to reveal Himself? Today, commit to praying. Prayer is central to this war and it has impact, influence, and great power.

When praying, don't just repeat the same words ; quote the word of God that backs up what you're praying about. Remember praying and asking are two separate things. There are different types of prayer such as asking for repentance ; glorification prayer where we thank God for all He's doing and praising and worshipping Him. A minimum of 75% of your time praying should be spent here. There's intercession prayer where you pray for others and there's prayer of warfare where you attack the stronghold of satan, in destroying all his plans against the Christians.

Praying in the Spirit.

Ephesians 6:18

As we read in yesterday’s verse, the gospel of peace readies you for spiritual warfare. With your mind centered on the gospel that saved you, pray in the Spirit. The question is, how does one pray in the spirit? As you have conversation in your head debating on which way to go, so it is in the spirit. In a way, you wield the Word of God through prayer, because our prayers have the power to impact this world and how it functions. God is sovereign, and our prayers funnel through that sovereignty. Finally ...

Ephesians 6:10-12
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Pay attention to the word "finally ". That means after you have tried everything else the world has to offer : job, money, wealth, political parties, your own intelligence, other religions and gods and you are still unsatisfied and perhaps worse off than when you began - NOW come back to God and be strong in Him. Don't just go to church religiously or to be a part of the community BUT get to know God personally not just when you need a quick fix! The Bible says it's not by power, it's not by might but by my spirit says the Lord. That means being strong in His might. Let God defend you while you hold your peace.

We are to stand against Satan's schemes. Warring in the spirit is a learning process. As we learn, there will be times that we need to retreat. In training we practice putting on the full armor of God as verse 11 says. When we do this, we can stand against any evil without fear because God has crafted the armor and stands with us! Notice who we battle against in verse 12. As with any conflict, there are times for offense and times for defense. Remember this as you begin to recognize spiritual warfare with the eyes of your heart.

Our weapons are heaven made.

2 Corinthians 10:3-4
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.

We do not war as armies of this world war. We war in the Spirit. Over the next few days, we will take a look at Ephesians 6, which outlines an entire spiritual suit of armor made up of faith, truth, righteousness, salvation, and readiness that protects you in this ongoing war, so do not be afraid. Weapons of this world do nothing against the evil that seeks to make us fall. Take courage, God is prepared for any adversary and has provided you the tools to do battle in His strength and claim victory in Christ!

Prepare yourself for battle as the soldiers of our country do so as to avoid being injured or even killed by our enemy, the devil. Don't be deceived in thinking all is love and peace, the war we're in is deadlier than any war you have ever known!

Saved by the blood.

Luke 22:15-20
And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.

Today is about communion. We practice it to remember Jesus Christ and the sacrifice he made through his body and blood. It is by His blood that the new covenant is set in place; the new covenant that you are saved by grace through faith in Christ alone! His body was given for you. The cup (Christ’s blood) was poured out for you. Christ’s life was not TAKEN, it was GIVEN – for you. When we eat and drink in this way, we do so remembering that it was our sin that held Him on that cross, and that He conquered that sin and death and is now alive! You have been set free! Amazing!

No turning back.

Revelation 20:11-15
Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.

Everything we do here on earth are bring recorded by the angels on books, whether good or bad, whether done publicly or in private. God will then pass His judgment based on what is recorded. Change while there's still time for nobody knows when they'll die. It can be any minute from now or years to come, whatever the time : WILL YOU BE WELCOMED INTO PARADISE OR NOT?
You want your name in the book of life. When this day comes, it will be too late to change your mind about how you lived, whether you chose to believe or not, and there will be no room for regret. Even the dead stand before Christ to be judged. Death and Hades themselves are thrown into the lake of fire to be consumed. From this passage, there does not appear to be any way back from the lake of fire. Go for the book of life now - believe in Jesus!

Ambassador of Christ

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

As God's ambassador, you represent everything that makes God to be God. When you speak, it's as if it's God speaking because He has sent you to represent Him on earth! You are subject to God only and answer to no other man. Wherever you are residing is paradise on earth. No one has the right to bind you to their laws but you are a lawgiver yourself. Start living like the ambassador you are and walk with your head high! You're very special to God! Study more on the role of your ambassador to get a full understanding of how to live your life.
You are chosen. God hand-picked you to be called His son or daughter and set you free! Because you are called out of darkness, responsibility comes to praise the One who made you free. The word “response” is in responsibility. Will you respond to this magnificent gift by accepting the call to “declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness”?(NIV) You were bought at the highest price, for a special purpose, by a God who cherishes and loves you.
