Does an upright heart exist?

Psalms 119:7
I will praise you with an upright heart
as I learn your righteous laws.

An upright heart that is led to praise God borderlines on being foolish. The Bible mentions making the wise foolish and making the foolish wise. (1 Cor. 20-31) Could it be that praising God is a sign of wisdom? When your heart is ruthlessly dependent on God and your mind swims with grace; praise will pour out from you. Authentic, desperate, beautiful praise. Praise God through the hardships and in every season of life. Do not be ashamed of foolishness for Christ!

Put your trust in Jesus

Psalms 119:105-106
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws.

When you feel lost, consult the word of God. The wisdom of the Bible and of Jesus Christ transcends time and space. It applies to your heart and life just like it did to those we read about. We make a covenant with God to live according to His influence and direction instead of our own. This has to do with Jesus Christ being your “Lord”. Jesus can be your “Savior” without being your Lord. Choose Him as Lord – only He is trustworthy to be in authority over your life.

All you need is blood.

Jeremiah 31:33-34
“This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the LORD.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
34 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the LORD,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares the LORD.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”

Only God can write on your heart and place the law in your mind. In this passage Jeremiah conveys that God has sealed “a people” that will belong to Him. This is another foreshadowing of Christ’s saving blood covering us. Because Christ’s blood covers us we are forgiven and God does not remember our sins. Christ’s blood is the new covenant, He said so Himself. (Luke 22:20) Believe in Christ and have a part in this promise!

Beware!

Deuteronomy 8:17-18 ()

17 Beware lest you say in your heart, My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth. 18 You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. #Bible http://j.mp/hPGoqd

Stand firm

1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Nothing we do in the Lord is in vain. We continue to see verses that point us to sacrifice, to full surrender. Your labor is not in vain because it is in service to the one who is in full authority in heaven, on earth, and under the earth. That is – Jesus Christ. Sometimes all we need to do in order to glorify God…is stand firm.

Boast about God

Jeremiah 9:23-24
This is what the LORD says:
“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom
or the strong boast of their strength
or the rich boast of their riches,
24 but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know me,
that I am the LORD, who exercises kindness,
justice and righteousness on earth,
for in these I delight,”
declares the LORD.

If you ever wondered what the Lord would want you to talk about, this verse is your answer. Boast in that you know Him. Put on display who He really is and who He has proven to be for you! Tell others that the Lord would be delighted for them to know Him too. Lord Jesus, help us share your quality, grace, and mercy with those around us!

Matthew 7:7-8
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

Our God desires us to seek Him and come to Him with our needs. God is no slot-machine! He is not anxiously awaiting our wish-list of worldly treasures! He is anxiously awaiting our approach of the throne of grace, our requests born out of deep need and desperation, our seeking His face because of the knowledge of who He is and that He alone is worthy of that effort! Where authentic hearts of desperation and seeking collide with the power of God – that is where the miraculous is born!
